In today’s blog post, I’m running through five core items for fall. Fall is by far, my favourite season to dress for bc it allows for all my favourite things; lots of layers, textures & warmth.
When it comes to shopping, I seem to have this problem where I’m attracted to the pricer option so I’ve kind of become an expert at finding affordable options [bc I can’t always justify the spend]. What I’ve done today is, started with (some pricer) inspiration then hunted down other versions at all price points, so there’s something for everyone.
6 FALL ITEMS UNDER $100
DISTRESSED DENIM: after summer I like to start introducing darker washes back into my rotation. Currently living in distressed denim from Topshop & Princess Polly.
UTILITY JACKET: utility jackets are all the rage this season.. and for good reason. They go with everything and there seem to be endless variations in style & material online rn. I have this one, but I also found this, this and this online. Here‘s another inexpensive option in grey & light purple.
I know we’re focused on being cost effective, but sometimes where I’ll make the exception is if I’m investing in a piece that I can hold onto. Something that’s neutural, that can go with a lot of clothes I already have and something I know I’ll get a ton of use out of. This is one piece that would make the cut. I got this utility jacket from Aritzia, after they didn’t have this one in-store (had to special order the white one bc it’s out of stock — FYI, but I’m obsessed with my other one & know I’ll have this forever)
If you want the same-ish look at a fraction of the cost, I found this one which was pretty close to the Aritzia one.
BLACK SUNNIES: everybody needs at least ONE good pair of black sunglasses in their collection. It’s the — all else fails, safe option to complete a look (or cover tired eyes). I loved these 90’s style frames, they’re kinda like another pair from Shady Lady Eyewear.
BUCKET BAG: I went through a big phase of oversize, larger bags but I’m really glad it’s switch to a more minimal approach. Less is always more and bucket bags are a fun way to round out your outfit, while forcing you to take only necessities — couldn’t not add a few of those necessities below:
Obviously, this one is designer (sigh) but I found a few similar options here, here, here & here.
BOOTS: fall weather means bootie season. There are tons of options online, Nordstrom usually has a great roundup of all price points. Some of my favourite brands include Sam Edelman, Vince Camuto, Marc Fisher, Steve Madden & Mija. These & these are a little over $100 but super cute for fall!
I am I love with the Ganna Jacket from Aritzia! Definitely going to buy one for the winter!!!
