Before I get going here.. I have to apologize for my delay in brining you fresh content lately! It’s been an INSANE last two weeks to say the least. Long story short, my little brother Asher has been at Children’s Hospital for the past two weeks (scariest two weeks of.my.life.) — happy to report he is doing MUCH better and is now relaxing comfortably at home while my Mom waits on him hand and foot.

In the last two weeks a lot of changes have started to shift and one of my favourite seasons is upon us! Bring on the bright flowers, peonies, longer days and lighter layers (beyond ready to ditch my winter coat). April showers have officially arrived, and only because they’re worth the wait I’ll take them gladly for lots and lots of May flowers. Today I’m breaking down the 5 updates I’m making to my wardrobe to get myself spring-ready:

  1. New spring sandal
I got these ones from DSW for under $50! I’m not usually one for open-toed shoes but I love the perforated detailing on these, there unlike any other pair I have. Shop a similar pair here.
  2. Tie everything together
I’ve really been into neckties lately. The easiest way to elevate your outfit no matter how casual, is to add a necktie to tie up your look.
  3. Trench Coat
This is the perfect transition piece and wearable (nearly) year-round, you can shop my exact trench I’m wearing here.
  4. Update your frames
I’ve always had a crush on these sunglasses, but totally was not digging the $500 designer price tag so instead I bought these ones from Joe Fresh for $13 (WIN). Shop a similar pair here.
  5. Bring on the neutrals
I love neutrals all year round, but they are especially great for the warmer month of the year and a nice way to freshen up your wardrobe with pieces that can be worn anytime.
