MY SUNGLASS COLLECTION

Over the years I’ve collected and refined my style when it comes to sunglasses. I’ve played around and tried basically everything over the years but have come to find that I only really rotate between three pairs. These three styles go with everything and are my go-to’s I reach for over and over without fail (and no matter how many other cute pairs are sitting in my closet).

THE SUNGLASS STYLES EVERY GIRL SHOULD OWN

+ RETRO ROUND SUNNIES: these are sleek + chic. I have the black ones with gold hardware and love that they are still casual but can also elevate any outfit.

+ CAT EYE SUNNIES: it’s fun to have one pair that is a bit more stylish and the cat eye will NEVER go out of style. I love my tortoise shell pair with a slight and subtle cat eye or if I’m feeling like switching it up, I love the little cat eyes, too. I linked to both save & splurge options.

+ BIG BLACK SUNNIES: every girl needs that one pair of big, black sunglasses you can throw on to disguise the all nighter you just pulled. These are the perfect pair of black, oversized sunnies I like to throw on to grab coffee in the morning when my eye’s are puffy AF. While you’re at it you could probably get away with putting on my favourite under eye mask underneath your sunglasses and no one would even bat an eye.

THE DEAL WITH BLUE LIGHT BLOCKING GLASSES:

We’ve all heard about them. Seen them everywhere, but DO THEY DO ANYTHING? This was a questions I too, was wondering about. So I did some research…

Do you struggle with fatigue? Have you ever checked your daily usage on your phone? People are spending upward of 8 hours a day on their devices — which (is crazy but also) emits blue light. What happens is, that blue light tricks your body into thinking that it’s still daytime which may in turn impact your sleep cycle.

Blue lenses help to filter out harmful blue light rays, which can help to decrease eye strain, glare, and visual fatigue.

Ways to protect your eyes:
+ get a comprehensive eye exam
+ take regular breaks from screen time
+ switch your phone based filter to reduce blue light at night
+ avoid screen time an hour before bed

MY BLUE LIGHT BLOCKING GLASSES:

+ Johnny in silver (I have the rose gold but it’s not available ATM)
+ Oxford in crystal
+ Oxford in Gray Tortoise Shell

HOW I STORE MY EYEWEAR:

I’m a big fan of integrating storage solutions into your home decor. I like to display things and lately my ‘thing’ has been to use glass containers to organize everything from my accessories to my business cards. I usually get my containers from places like HomeSense but they are also available online on Amazon.
