When I am entertaining company (especially throughout the warmer spring/summer months) I always go to the Public Market on Granville Island in Vancouver. Growing up in Vancouver & having made many special memories visiting as a child, also makes it a nostalgic experience for me. These days, it’s really a one-stop shop kinda deal & my go-to for when I’m hosting company. Everything from picking up bright, beautiful florals to visiting their fresh produce aisles, fresh baked goods, European delicacies for the best-ever DIY charcuterie plates and we can’t forget all the gorgeously displayed sweets. Vancouver photographer Jamie Lauren came along with me on a typical day to the market, to capture my photo journal including all my go-to’s when hosting guests. First stop: Beaucoup Bakery & Café for my favorite cappuccino & a cinnamon scroll. If you follow along on my Instagram feed you may recognize my beloved cinnamon scroll! I love finding a cozy spot at Beaucoup to catch up on emails & caffeinate before a busy day of business meetings & collaborations. It’s nearly impossible not to leave with a box full of fresh baked goodies to take home.
Next stop: Granville Island Florist at the Public Market, Granville Island. One thing I do love about Vancouver is that we get the chance to experience each unique season & its accompanied blooms. GIF always has the most beautiful flower market displays in town. Today, was all about pretty cherry blossoms & deep purple long stemmed flowers, sometime a little different than the usual Spring tulips.

Next stop: Fresh fruits & produce from Sole Food at the Public Market. Rows & rows of perfectly assembled fruit towers line the public market produce tables. I always grab a few extras to have on hand for quick, easy desserts like strawberry Angel Cake or fruit sorbet.

Next stop: Terra Breads at the Public Market. The smell of Terra Breads alone is enough to make you cave on your carb-cutting ways. I love to round out a dinner party with one of their artisan loaves (the black olive is a favorite) to eat with balsamic vinegar & olive oil.

I can’t wait to start planning for summer entertaining, dinner parties & social gatherings that especially this summer will bring due to our upcoming wedding, using all my favorite stops along Granville Island. I hope you enjoyed my photo journal from my day at the Market!
