A NY MINUTE: EOS PARTNER

This past weekend was an absolute whirlwind, and a good one at that. I wanted to put together a little post to recap since a lot of you were interested in hearing about what went down during my stay. Last Wednesday I left on a red-eye to New York to join the team at eos for a brand presentation and media launch for their new product line, the eos Crystal balm. We had some delays on the way but arrived to our hotel at The Ludlow with just enough time to quickly get into our rooms and freshen up before heading out for the day.

First off, this hotel is dreamy. Tucked in New York’s Lower East Side I was blown away by the design; my suit was modern and cozy with a little terrace view of the city. AND THE BATHROOMS. These bathrooms were goals. Complete with plush bath robes from Parisian fashion label Maison Marginal, white tiled walls, black and white checked floors and a white marble sink with brass fixtures and a large brass mirror. Absolutely stunning! Not to mention the lobby lounge, with its limestone gas fireplace, oversize chandeliers, Moroccan rugs and vintage furniture. Make sure to also check out Dirty French (located in the hotel) but ask to have your meal (or wine) served in the garden. Trust me, it’s magical.

If you aren’t familiar with eos products, they are most well-known for their line of natural lip balms, made free from petroleums and parabens. This fall eos is leading the lip balm category once again with their new Crystal Weightless Hydration. A revolutionary clear formula delivering lightweight, natural-feeling hydration in two new flavours: Vanilla Orchid and Hibiscus Peach. You can find them at most retailers including Walmart, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Recall, Loblaws etc.

Other favourites I always keep in my purse include the Sweet Mint, Honeysuckle and Summer Fruit flavours from the organic line. Stations were set up throughout the eos showroom demonstrating hydration tests so that we could really see the technology behind the product, which is always so helpful to see outside of traditional marketing. I have a little experience with this one though, since I’ve been using eos lip balms (religiously) everyday since they came out in Canada. They are available at Costco in a multipack, which is usually cheaper than other retailers. I always keep a few my car, my purse and office drawers for year-round hydration (they even have a range that includes SPF for summer time or when you’re on vacation – bingo!)

Since this was a work trip (and due to major flight delays) we only had about 48hours to play with so I made the most of my free time, stopping at a couple instagram-worthy spots.

Below are 5 stops you can add to your list for your next trip to NYC:

1. Cha Cha Matcha: such a cute little spot in the Upper East Side. Perfect spot to sip delicious iced matcha drinks (I tried the Matcha Mint Lemonade – so good!) and photo-worthy space.

2. TacombiDelicious, authentic Mexican food located in the Flatiron district – my last meal before I headed to the airport and man was it good. We had the crispy fish tacos, spicy mexican corn and of course my ultimate favourite, guacamole and fresh corn chips. They also have a really cute juice bar where they prepare —- it’s so cute, with amazing authentic Mexican.

3. Nomo Kitchen: Located in Soho, this place is amazing day or night but you have to go at least once at night because the entire inside is all lite up with candles and stringed bistro light. It’s spectacular, a really nice ambiance and delicious family-style food. A little on the pricer side but if you’re planning a special night out, this is your place.

4. Jack’s Wife Freda: been wanting to visit for yearrrrrs but just didn’t make it over there this trip. You’ve likely seen a ton of photos from this cute little cafe on Instagram, its a blogger favourite during Fashion Week.

5. Glossier: while we were headed for tacos, we passed by the Glossier showroom randomly and decided to head up to the penthouse to check it out. It’s not big but they have most of the range of products available to shop. The experience is timed out like a science to keep a steady flow of customers going in and out so I’d say it’s definitely worth a stop.
