This morning I visited Project Skin for my first [of three] laser treatments. I filmed it on stories & saved it to my ‘Project Skin’ highlight in case you missed it, but got the VBeam Perfecta Laser and was in-and-out in less than 30 mins.
I’m going to include a full-post on my treatments, progress and results and share it over the next four months, but today I want to talk to you about the Custom D.O.S.E treatment plan by Skinceuticals. Remember when I was at Project Skin last week with the Skinceuticals team? We developed my very own Custom D.O.S.E serum based on my specific and unique skincare needs, how crazy is that?! Here’s how it works…
Your Custom D.O.S.E. treatment plan contains 14 unique ingredients treating discolouration and related signs of aging. What you get is your personal corrective serum that is created from extensive research on more than 250 combinations of skin traits and concerns and each ingredient has an expiration date to ensure peak freshness in your formula.
After speaking to a Skinceuticals Specialist about my daily skincare routine and what products I’m actively using [FYI: I’ve been using Skinceuticals for 4+ years) we determined my main areas of concern.
The ingredients needed to help target my concerns included a brightening agent (to help improve the appearance of discolouration including stubborn brown patches) and two enhancing agents; Proxylane (helps to support skin’s matrix and improve skin firmness) and 0.1% Retinol (improves uneven skin tone, promotes cell turnover, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles), with the carrier for the ingredients in my formula being a Emulsion base which contains conditioning agents.
I love their concept that one formulation does not fit all and I believe that to be especially true if you’re like me and live somewhere that experiences 4 seasons through the year. I know what I do/use in the dead of winter is not the same as what I use/do in the heat of summer so its nice that once you run out of your serum (typically lasts 3 months) you can come back and reassess your needs at that time so your skincare is evolving with your environment.
I had to stop using my serum (since there is retinol in it) temporarily to prepare for my laser treatment today but the week I was testing it out, I was loving it. I’m excited to start introducing it back into my daily routine and will be sure to document as I do.
I’m curious, what are your favourite serums?
Would you be interested in creating your own Custom D.O.S.E serum?!
