If you’ve hung around here long enough, you know I love my morning smoothies. I’ve shared my not-so-secret recipe, how I learned to like them and my tips for making smoothies you’ll actually enjoy.
All this aside, there are still days when I don’t have anything prepped and just don’t have the time to wash/trim everything needed to make a smoothie from scratch. Not only that, while I love supporting local juiceries on the regular, some days I’m just not into spending $8-$10 for someone else to make it.
I recently learned about a Vancouver-Based company called Blender Bites changing the game in smoothie prep. Blender bites are organic superfood pucks that contain organic fruits, kale and 7 superfood powders like chlorella, spirulina and wheatgrass. They come in two flavour varieties: Greens & Berries or Greens & Tropicals.
Basically your only job is to throw a puck into the blender along with a little almond milk or coconut water and a banana and you’re good to go! I don’t know what took so long for someone to develop this idea but I’m sure glad Chelsie did!
Brilliant for people who want to live that smoothie life but in the laziest way possible. It’s a lot of work! As someone who has at least one every day, these are a good backup if I either don’t have anything prepped or want to add in some additional nutrition to my own.
I became obsessed with drinking fresh green smoothies after a series of medical issues forced me to look into and pay attention to my gut health. It became the best way for me to get all my greens (like lots of kale & spinach) quickly and easily and eventually build up a good routine.
While I know my internal health has improved, I’ve also noticed significant improvements on the outside, too. My skin is clearer and brighter, my hair and nails are stronger and grow faster and I find that I have more energy through the day.
So! If being more healthy was something on your goal list for 2019, this is a nice way to ease your way in. You can pick up Blender Bites in the freezer section at retailers like Natures Fare, Choices, Whole Foods and lots more here.
What do you do to keep on top of your nutrition? I want to hear form you!
