OUR MINTED HOLIDAY CARD

I’m not fussy when it comes to doing family holiday cards. Personally, it seems a little overkill (esp without kids!) and can turn into quite the production when all is said and done. On the other hand, having a printed image to signify that year of life is a nice keepsake to have for the future. Something I can appreciate. We also have family in Spain, so whether we ‘do’ a family card or not I try to send out a card at Christmas time.

The thought of posing for cheesy/staged photos makes me want to gag – not to mention send my husband running for the hills – but having worked with Melissa for so long I was totally confident that she would capture us just being us. I just wanted to document this time in our lives.

We shot these photos at the beach right around the corner from our condo where we’ve spent the last 6 years, coming up December 1st. It’s crazy to think how much time we’ve spent here building our life and everything that’s happened. I’m especially excited for 2020 because I know it’ll come with a lot of changes. And quite honestly, I’m so excited to be stepping into this new phase, but more on that later.

Anyways, back to my Minted holidays cards…
I was kind of shocked at how seamless this entire process was. Once I selected my favourite photo(s) from Melissa I started scrolling through Minted’s gallery of card designs before stumbling on two that I felt were more my vibe. Linking them here and here for your reference.

I wanted something casual, low-key and not overly christmas-sy. Plugged in a photo of the three of us, signed our names and hit DONE. The cards showed up a few days later (well before their ETA) with pre-addressed envelops and custom stamps, HELLO. Not only am I happy to have done it, doing it this way saved me so much time. All that’s left to do now, is drop the envelops in the mail.
