Anybody who knows me and is familiar with my story knows that networking played a critical role in building my career. It’s something that faculty always stressed in University and lucky for me, something that I never minded doing. It’s how I got many ‘first chances’ breaking into the Marketing industry and later how I got my dream job (twice over) and established differentiation from my peers. It’s been interesting to watch the subtle shifts in how we are now interacting, shopping, networking and doing business, it would only make sense for there to be an event designed for today’s Canadian emerging leaders (in business, style, design, health and wellness).
Let me introduce you to Shannon and Christina, the leads and visionaries behind the TREND concept: TREND Vancouver is the first ever event that’s fused together boutique shopping with business and networking opportunities, designed for today’s modern women.
On Sunday, October 2nd women from around the Vancouver area will gather in Yaletown for the boutique style event featuring 35 select vendors across the west coast, each showcasing the latest style, beauty, design, business and wellness trends.
I’m particularly excited to be supporting TREND because I will be speaking as a panelist in the ‘Future of Retail Marketing’ discussion (and absolutely honoured to do so). I’m set to share my perspective at the 11:30 – 12:30 workshop, but in case you can’t make that one I will also be spending part of the afternoon hanging out in the Mentor Lounge, designed to create 15-minute opportunities for one-on-one conversations for anyone who wants to come chat! Maybe you have some burning questions or were curious about something to do with blogging and influencer marketing or running your own business, or maybe you’re not sure which direction to go because you haven’t quite found your ‘calling’ yet.
