The Working Girl | One Year

2014 came & went with so many reasons to be grateful. I launched TheWorkingGirl.ca in January 2014, hoping to give modern-day working girls a place to feel encouraged, inspired and motivated to reach for their goals and shoot for their dreams. Being a ‘Working Girl’ myself, I wanted to create a space I could use as a creative outlet to share my passion for collaboration through fashion, photography, lifestyle and career & hopefully encourage other ‘working girls’ to aim high & work hard to do whatever it is they dream of.

In that time I’ve been so fortunate to have worked alongside so many talented entrepreneur, brands and startups – not to mention photographers, make-up artists, stylists and digital wizes that helped bring my visions to life. As my blog and brand has grown, what many readers don’t know is that well before launching this site, I worked my way through many years of Business School, earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Marketing while networking the city until landing a job at an Advertising Agency. It was only through persistent dedication and ALOT of hard work did any of this come to me.

I am beyond thankful for those who have watched us grow from day one and to those who have just stumbled upon us – none of this would be possible without your loyal support and kind encouragement. Every follow, like, tweet and comment is very much appreciated and I love reading each and every one.

We have an incredible year ahead with lots of exciting opportunities – I can only hope that you enjoy the site & everything we stand behind. Here’s to a successful & fulfilling 2015!

A BIG thank-you to Sweet Bake Shop who made this amazing macaroon cake for our 1st birthday! I am a HUGE lover of Tessa’s macaroons so it was only fitting that this be our first cake – unbelievable!

  1. Sydney, Oh my!! I must admit that I didn’t visit your blog hardly at all in 2014. I am embarrassed to say that as I had no idea from either one of you what was going on. I have just spent the last several hours reading your blog and I am so proud of you. Words cannot express how I feel and the tears won’t stop flowing. Congratulations!! I love you. Mom
