For the most part, when I’m home with my husband we tend to watch movies + tv shows full of suspense and dark plots twists, but when I’m home alone I love to dive into feel good movies. Especially on Sundays, when hubby’s out for the day golfing. I like to pour myself an extra cup of coffee, light my favourite candle + get cozy. Listing out some of my all-time fave feel-good movies below:

It’s Complicated: we all know this is my fave ever, I can’t even count the number of times I’ve watched it. Marily Streep’s house in the movie is the Spanish rancher of my dreams, not to mention the bakery she owns in the movie. It’s the definition of a feel-good movie that literally anyone could love.

Something’s Gotta Give: a classic, forsure. I love Diane Keaton and Jack Nickolson in this one and it reminds me of watching it with my Mom.

Father of the Bride: I think a lot of the reason I love Nancy Meyers movies so much, is because she puts a lot of emphasis into the movie details. I was always obsessed with the Banks house in this one too, their neighbourhood always look so charming and perfect. The cast is also hilarious, a feel-good movie forsure.

The Holiday: a holiday classic. My favourite movies have always been the ones entered around the career-driven woman, on the quest for love. Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet are adorable and the rest of the cast is solid. The cottage in Cotswold where Kate Winslet’s character lives always puts me right in the holiday spirit.

Home Again: I first randomly watched this one on TV and thought it was super cute. Reese Witherspoon’s character becomes estranged with her husband and moves her family back to LA to live in the home of her late father (a Hollywood filmmaker). Super cheesy but a cute one to watch.

The Intern: set in New York, Anne Hathaway’s character is the CEO of an online fashion start-up that goes big. When no one can seem to fill her needs as her intern at a critical time in her business, she meets Robert DeNiro’s character who’s realized he’s not cut out for retirement.

The Proposal: Sandra Bullock’s character is a big-time New York editor who suddenly faces deportation and convinces her assistance (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her so she can stay in the country. When she goes with him to visit his family + carry out her elaborate plan, they stay in a quaint little town in Alaska (its so cute) and the family’s beautiful home on the water.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days: this was a classic when I was in high school and I still love it to this day. Kate Hudson plays a magazine advice columnist in New York who is sent on assignment to write a piece on how to lose a guy in 10 days. Her victim is none other than Matthew McConaughey.

The Devil Wears Prada: need I say more.

Sweet Home Alabama: this one’s just a sweet, funny, feel-good movie about a girl (Reese Witherspoon) who’s career takes off as a New York fashion designer when she suddenly becomes engaged to the city’s most eligible bachelor (Patrick Dempsey). Which forces her to go back to her hometown in Alabama to get her divorce papers finalized by her childhood sweetheart.

Legally Blonde: another Reese Witherspoon classic. I use to love watching this in the fall right before heading back to school. Still gets me super nostalgic.
